I’m sure it’s common for most mamas to feel bittersweet nearing the end of their second pregnancy. I say “nearing the end” loosely, as I do have one more trimester to go through. But, I’m quickly realizing that my one on one time with Charlotte is coming to an end, and while I’m extremely happy for this little one to be here, I’m also a little sad about my “Charlotte time” changing. Because of that, I’m trying to take advantage of the last few months we have together, just me and her. I’m soaking up every bath time, every bed time, every snuggle, every song, and every moment in between.
If you know me, you know I am obsessed with my little girl-and that is NO exaggeration. We have this special bond and connection like no other, and I just can’t imagine our relationship changing. I know I have more love to give and more room in my heart to share, and yet somehow I can’t imagine how it will be with another baby. I’m mentally preparing myself to be able to share my time with Charlotte and Savannah, and I’m sure once Savannah’s here, I won’t be able to part from her either.
And, even though I’ll be prepared to share Charlotte, I want to be sure that Charlotte will also be prepared to share mommy. I think it’s so important for her to know how much mommy loves her, for her to feel included, and for her to love her sister as much as I do. But, before that time comes, here’s just a few special things we have planned for this fall..
-Mother daughter shopping day
-Trip to Build-a-Bear to make Savannah a stuffed animal with her heartbeat
-Trip to Appleworks Apple Orchard to pick apples and pumpkins
-Neighborhood Fall Festival
-Fall cookie baking day–complete with icing and LOTS of sprinkles 😉
-Halloween party and trick-or-treating
And, of course, lots of movie nights, “slumber parties”, living room forts, and play dates. Our party crasher is coming in just a few short months, and I’m anxiously waiting her her arrival, and all the changes she will bring. I know it will just be the best. 🙂
